About
I’m a decent human being who loves the outdoors. More than anything I love to run. I also love to learn.
The last few years of ultra-running has ticked both boxes above (and more).
I care about my friends, my family and my own health. I’m passionate about the human body & mind and the rewards it delivers through a wholefood, plant-based diet, an ever-evolving training plan and an unquenchable thirst for learning.
I’ve had some amazing adventures already with plenty more to follow. I run for Team Nathan UK and am supported by Nathan, Feetures, Clifbar and Princeton Tec.
The blog is really just a way for me to share some of my thoughts, adventures and performances. Hopefully I’ll also get the chance to interact with the interesting people out there I’d never have a chance of meeting. I’m no expert. I’m no super-talent. I just run with heart and will always try to be a better runner and a better person.
Read, ignore, criticise, agree, leave, talk, share, unfollow. Your call.

Paul,
What an achievement, broke your own record, another amazing display of ultra running from a top runner.
Recently just started ultra distances, read your blog regular, just inspired to push harder.
Well done!
Cheers
Euan

Hi Paul. I work at Greencity Wholefoods Co-op in Glasgow. We are a vegetarian/vegan company and were interested to hear that as well as achieving amazing running success you were also a vegan. Brilliant! A lot of us enjoying finding transcendence in the trails and asylum in the hills outside work too. Please do get in touch with us should you ever be looking for yummy vegan treats, sweet or savoury : we stock loads! And keep on running!

Hey,there’s a Wholefoods Co-op in Glasgow? Really? Why didn’t I know this! Thanks for taking the time to send me a message – much appreciated. So when are we going to talk vegan treats (savoury and sweet) as well as running?

Paul, I met you at the Bright Angel Trailhead just after you had finished your rim-to-rim-to-rim on Oct. 29 and you patiently answered my questions and thus introduced me to ultra running. There are so many ways to experience the world. Thanks for teaching me about this one.

Uuuh, what a wonderful message! I was out running today and I thought about meeting you and talking for a while. It really was lovely to chat and was the icing on the cake of a beautiful day. You asked such interesting questions!
It’s friendly encounters like ours that really makes the sport special. Thank you for being so friendly – I’ll always smile when I think about that day!
And thank you for sending me a message. You’re very kind and thoughtful.
Hope you enjoyed the rest of your time at the Canyon. I must have eaten half my weight once I’d had a bath!
Paul 🙂
